Description
Offset design is perfect for securing cam eccentric while the nut is removed/installed. Comes with 22mm adapter (851-996) and 26mm adapter (749-1198). Fits Desmoquattro motors from 851 up through the 1198, except models with “ST-Head”. The ST-head on some 996, S4, S4R and ST4/4S models have a “dropped” exhaust valve arrangement. Look on the left side of your motor at the rocker pin cover plate. If your engine has 4 bolts securing the cover plate, this wrench will work. if it has 5 bolts (see picture) it won’t work. Testa heads don’t have such cover plates. Later 1098/1198 engines have either holes in the eccentric (see picture) or a nut with holes so that needle-nosed pliers can be used to rotate the eccentric.
NOTE1: If your eccentric has three holes instead of a hex head you don’t need this tool. Merely use needle-nosed pliers to rotate the cam belt tensioning eccent
